Yesterday, I had the opportunity to work on a job in Brno, specifically in the Bohunice area, where I took care of repairing blinds on four windows in a flat. This type of work is part of my daily routine, but every job is unique and presents new challenges. In the case of these blinds, several issues had to be addressed to ensure the system worked as it should.
Blind Repairs and Replacing the Guide Strings
During the job, I discovered that some of the blinds were missing the pull cords, which are essential for proper operation. In addition, all of the guide nylon strings in the blinds had been so damaged by prolonged exposure to sunlight that they were literally snapping in my hands. Replacing these strings is crucial for ensuring smooth operation of the blinds and extending the overall lifespan of the system.
For each blind, I took great care – I removed each one, thoroughly disassembled it, replaced the necessary components, and then reassembled it before hanging it back on the window. Although this process is time-consuming, it is essential to make sure the blinds are fully functional again. After completing the repairs, the blinds were working perfectly, and the customer was very pleased with the result.
Ceiling Maintenance in the Bathroom
Meanwhile, I also carried out maintenance on the plasterboard ceiling in the bathroom. This type of work involves scraping off old paint and applying a fresh coat to restore the ceiling’s appearance. Ceiling repairs in bathrooms, where moisture and condensation can cause issues, require expert knowledge and the use of high-quality materials. In this case, I used a special paint designed for damp environments, ensuring the ceiling would remain protected from humidity for the long term.
Replacement of the Balcony Door Handle
In addition to the blinds and ceiling work, I also replaced a worn-out handle on the balcony door. The old handle had become loose and difficult to use, which is a common issue over time. I fitted a new, sturdy handle that ensures smooth and reliable operation, making it much easier for the customer to access the balcony.

Overall, I’m glad I was able to provide the customer with a comprehensive service – from blind repairs and ceiling maintenance to the replacement of a balcony door handle.
